Stanford University’s Center for Fuels of the Future seeks to provide comprehensive solutions and strategies for the decarbonization of hard-to-abate sectors of the global economy. Through research, education, and external engagement, we hope to drive the availability and adoption of a low-carbon portfolio of fuels that are environmentally, economically, and socially sustainable.

New research provides the first comprehensive accounting of hydrogen sources and sinks. The gas indirectly heats the atmosphere about 37 times faster than carbon dioxide during the first 20 years after release.
